first trip for the golden week: kamakura, land of shrines...
me and frank bought a pass to travel from shinjuku to fujiwara, then by the enoden railway to kamakura, which costs about 1470yen.
a map of all the temples around kamakura.
and outside of the station
and walking down the shopping town...
pretty getas!
at the entrance of the first shrine...
a traditional wedding is being held! lucky!
and the temple... search for us!
statues and wishes
not sure what's the name plates for...
lots of people throwing coins and praying here... maybe cos it's the only temple you can enter for free haha
someone else getting married too
some more pictures before we left
pretty trees and lake
we went around tasting food in the shopping town and found this... crickets i think. which frank tried. ewwww. i tried this yellow mucus-looking thingy which turns out to be a crapload of wasabi. almost choked me to death.
next we went to look at a HUGE buddha. near the enoden station called hase. but because i paid the wrong amount for my bus trip and it doesn't give change (gave 590yenn instead of 190yen... :~(), i had to stay outside to save on the temple's entrance fee. really baka da na...
so i walked around the temple's area... and saw a weapon shop.
and di'er bought me the purple corokke which was sold out at the shopping town previously as a consolation! YUMMM!!!
and we went to another shrine... which i can't really remember all their names.
costs like 200-300yen to enter all these temples so might as well just look from the outside since the inside is mostly the same... when we went back to kamakura from hase, it was already 530pm, and most of the temples have already closed. so we decided to go home...
on the way we saw a naruto shop!
and a gate with the zelda symbol.
but of cos, to make use of my free train ride, i decided to go enoshima! even if it is by myself.
