and my armour i did for a week while watching hong gil dong. speaking of which... it's a really funny drama but the ending had me traumatised for 3 days. gong-jai! my prince! why!!! *gets lovestruck for a while*

ok, back to monster hunter armour. well, it's not very accurate i would say, but it's er... good enough i think for my level. sighs i just can't do anything 100% right. *bawls*

starting off with the skirt since that's what i worked on first. i used those hard type of underlining for the base, and wrapped cloth around them. it's my sewing-free job! all uhu glue! that's why i can watch hong gil dong and do this at the same time.

putting the individual pieces using one of the base strips, this is what i get.

Photobucket

then i did the skirt guard

Photobucket

and stuck them together. the skirt is buckled together using velcro.

Photobucket

this is the front piece of the skirt. used a ribbon so i can tie them to my waist. it's supposed to be underneath the skirt pieces.
now, why does the color look pink here? it's supposed to be orange. ARGHHH.

Photobucket

then i did my hand and leg warmers. ok, i needed to sew up the sides for these. but i didn't sew any of the edges! i used white type to keep the edges from unthreading. i hate sewing curly things actually.

Photobucket

warmers with the brown ribbon glued on.

Photobucket

when i post this it should be completed already. this is the chest plate and shoulder guard. and here i should explain that i used black cloth tape for all the edge lining and clear colored folders for all the colored patterns. this shoulder plate is NOT round enough. clear fail. perhaps i will redo if i'm not feeling too lazy.

Photobucket

here's the corset i did, using the same method as the skirt. it's joined up by machine stitching. too hard to hold corset together with uhu glue.

Photobucket

i did the butterfly pieces for the back and for the headgear.

Photobucket

and the butterfly is stitched behind the corset after positioning it with pins.

Photobucket

then there's the headpiece. actually this is the very first armour piece i did for the whole costume (remember in my previous post i said my helm sucked). it's done using craft foam and wrapping cloth around.

Photobucket

put on the colored pieces separately and lined the insides with white tape so the thread won't uncurl from the edge of the cloth.

Photobucket

i then sewed the 2 pieces together, and did the front cover as well.

Photobucket

the little butterfly goes to the back of the helm. here's the final headpiece with that ahoge sticking out in front (held up using wires inside)

Photobucket

the front shape is still a bit weird. but i AM TOO LAZY now. and i still need to figure out how to make this helm stick to my head. i mean i can wear it now but it's not like tight fitting or anything. it kinda bobs up if i don't find a method to tack it down.

Photobucket

now i only have the chainsaws left. headache...

and boy it's hot when i put all these stuff together...

hmmm? why did i ever get talked into doing this armour? phwehhh...
i undid the stitches and redid it for about 3 times before i finally got it right. though it still looks not very right. GAHHHH. what am i doing?!?!?

Photobucket
then there's my nails i prepared for kyoko.
argh speaking of the shoot on friday, it was really vexing. spent 3 hours to prepare only to arrive at the scene of rain. and got my gown all dirty and brownish at the edges. good thing there's still the home-made in house studio shots. hope it turns out well...

and i lost one of these nails!! T.T

Photobucket

Photobucket
my 2 weeks of holiday is ending in just another 8hours... sighs. time just keep flying when you don't want them to. and i supposedly just got off msn, but i'm blogging now. GOSH. i have to totally keep myself off the screen!! (after these updates of course)

first up, my castor plates. a bit too late now but oh well.

Photobucket

actually resprayed it again.

Photobucket

and i resprayed it AGAIN. all of them don't look that different anyway. wanted the new but not too new feeling but oh well.

here's what i really dislike. in random order, purely out of the top of my head.

1. sending someone a request, and getting it confirmed, but never seeing it done
2. see above, even with reminders
3. being late for things
4. people turning up late
5. buying your family things to share, but they don't seem to be touching it
6. initiating a meeting for maybe once in a while but getting rejected
7. see 6., if it happens a second time
8. see 6 again, if it happens a third time
9. knowing the postman was here 20minutes before i'm home
10. trying to call singpost to realise their line is engage
11. trying to call someone with a engaged line, and realising later that i have the outdated number
12. wanting to use the toilet but someone's cleaning it
13. resending something you have already sent
14. actually, redoing something you have already done
15. having your boss forget that you're actually on leave, and remind you for the umpteeth time about the live date of the website
16. and you explaining to him for the 10,000th time why it's still not up yet, with the same reasons as the previous 9,999th time
17. having him tell you to create another report when you already have something similar given (on your holiday)
18. giving my credit number for the 3rd time because it doesn't go through for some reasons
19. people asking the questions you have already answered - please, read your mail for god's sake
20. trying to kill the same monster again and again and getting kicked into the bloody hole.
21. this monster actually takes 2HP at once (fyi, i only have a max of 6HP)
22. what's with lighting up all the bloody fires that can only be lighted for 2secs??
23. knowing i'm facing #1-#22 today, and i am only halfway through my day.

24. and then, having your idiot brother message everyone on your office msn when you're supposed to be on leave.

on a side note, i actually have some stuff to brighten my day.

1. checking my account... and holy cow, it's just increased by 20 fold!
2. getting a registered mail when you didn't pay for it... and so fast!
3. knowing i didn't turn out quite as ugly as expected. but still ugly.
4. all the slashes up there... knowing they've been reciprocated.

well, i'm still counting my fingers. let's see the list when the day's over.

ooh my weekends have been rather fruitful.

saturday morning was spent coloring my blades so i can wait for them to dry later on.

Photobucket

afternoon was spent cutting this rabbit for val's teito. needs stuffings to complete. messaged her, then realised she's already at CF. kinda pissed off momentarily at frank's lie, but oh well. sometimes i should just not be bothered at all.

Photobucket

and late noon to night, the turtleneck.

Photobucket

then i spent about 1.5hours sewing all the buttons and hooks on to conceal the ugly zip while watching bakemonogatari.

Photobucket

Photobucket

woke up the next day with tired right arm and right leg. hmmm not sure why it is only this side. -.-

sunday - continued working on my castor. managed to piece the scythe together and colored it. went out to buy some materials in the morning.

Photobucket

Photobucket

tried to figure out how to make my butterfly armour using the foam + cloth wrapping method, but it turned out horrible. post later.

walked around house and ended up trying out the new philips blender bro had bought for mom, and made apple yogurt smoothie. yum! then blended the carrots and chestnuts, and mashed the meat, prawns and spring onions with them. sat down to wrap the dumplings while watching another episode of bakemonogatari again. dinner was great! i should have photographed all the ingredients and stuff, but i was too lazy with my dirty hands. oh well, next time maybe.

went out to causeway after that to get some more materials, and bought a whole box of chiffon cakes for my family. tomorrow's breakfast is gonna be good.

continued with epoxy-ing my scythe, and managed to saw out the top part of the specs using a saw! yays! castor looks quite ready to rock! even though i feel that maybe i'm not even needed for the group, i have to do well if i'm going to solo (since the rest were all ready to drop out just a few days ago...)

Photobucket

i feel like just flying a kite now...

by the way that cat bouncing around is pretty strong. it helped me kill off some t-rexes while i was screenshooting. not bad. although i did faint once or twice from stupidly moving to the poisoned waters.

and that's really too many pictures for now.

do unto others what you want others to do unto you.

that's why i'm getting my retribution now, in a tenfold amount.

maybe before i start hating them for it, i should hate myself first.

I HATE MYSELF.
