Day 4 00 CQ River Cruise

ah.. so it's monday again T_T
woke up early to have starbucks breakfast with darling, then i got off to work while he waited at tiong bahru. met up again for lunch and tried this rosti and salad place. 1 rosti for $8, and $2 for the bratwurst. for the salmon it was $8 and you can top up with 2 sides for $6 and add $4 for the full set, which includes the arizona drink and mushroom soup. not too bad! tasted pretty nice too.

after work, we met up at clarke quay for jumbo and river cruise. took the queue and it seemed the waiting time for 1.5-2hrs so we took explored clarke quay for half an hour, then took the cruise in the meantime.

darling is finally not wearing his cap! cos i complained that it stinks. lol.

the whole cruise took about 45mins but halfway through we got a call from jumbo saying our table was ready so we panicked. thankfully they were able to hold our tables for us so we were able to have dinner without re-queuing. phew...

we ordered pepper crab, chilli crab, oatmeal prawns, fried horfun and seafood fried rice. the fried rice was just so so and the prawns inside were really mini, totally not worth the $18. the rest was alright. it cost about $240 for the whole meal, for the 4 of us. and as you can see, i only took 1 pic since i was busy eating and my hands were dirty from all the sauce. hahah. it was already almost 10pm by the time we finished eating. since it was the last night, we went home early (not quite but oh well) to pack and rest for the night.

even managed to show 00 the new odin sphere before we sleep. hahahha.

131101-4 Hotel Clover

i made a mistake on this hotel because i thought the one i was booking for was for 2 person but ended up it was only for 1 person. had a looooooooooong talk with the staff and they finally agreed to let me stay in after some negotiations. sighs. don't know why i'm so blur somethings =_=

anyway Hotel Clover is at Clarke Quay, and it was a pretty nice place with really comfortable beds and their items were all organised and clean.

the next few days was all spent working on props, and we nearly died due to all the indoor spraying.

i couldn't really help much because what i made was not up to standard so i could only give moral support and do the little little things. or cut things over and over again till it was perfect. poor 00 had to work day and night on it. then again, he wanted to make this part of his portfolio.

the hotel offered pretty good breakfast (not a buffet one, but still good enough) too.

we would get out occasionally to eat, but there wasn't much sightseeing done since 00 kept saying we were running out of time. we did however ate a nice seafood dinner on the last few days at Jumbo since he was craving crab.

our favourite shark's fin soup, heh.

i like how the pincers meat is so biiiiiggggggg

Day 1 River Cruise

ok so i call this the zerodrome since it always happens a week before he comes. sleeplessness, fidgety, sudden happiness, sudden painfulness. bleahs.
met around 630am finally, and had a short breakfast before we went to the hotel. work sucks. especially that day.

we met again at lunch and after work, and passed by some lantern-making displays using recycled materials. i must say Singaporeans' creativity is rather awesome sometimes!
then there's an inner area with entries submitted by school teams
and this one was made by HC! whee!

then after that we had dinner at a spanish restaurant where the food that he ordered supposedly tasted like dokboggi. heehee.

and i had quesadillas

and off we are to the river cruise!

the night scene is awesome...! at first i thought the cruise was only around clarke quay river, but it actually traveled over to raffles place and marina bay sands. not bad.

there's also someone playing guzhen (or whatever it was) on the boat

what was memorable though, was that it started raining really really heavily in the middle of the ride. although we were sheltered, we had to move to the inside because the wind was just making everybody feel the rain wherever they sat anyway!!! i don't know why but it suddenly felt so titanic. can you see the rain in the pic... whoa.

babies were crying, people starting to squeeze together, it was cold and the rain kept getting heavier and heavier. what was good though, is i'm sure we'll never ever forget this night...!!!

when it was time to land, the rain wasn't stopping, so the employee brought umbrellas to shelter the tourist (but he himself was totally drenched). the umbrella didn't really help at all as the wind was too strong and almost uplifted 1 out of every 3 umbrellas. it was rather hilarious. even with the umbrella, we were 70% drenched. yeowcccch. we quickly ran to a nearby shelter, and darted all the way to Indochine for drinks.

thank goodness Indochine wasn't too cold, so we could dry ourselves off a little. i'm not sure what got into me, but i walked straight into the men's toilet to dry myself (in a cubicle). i was shocked when i exited and a man came walking in. x_x but er, it's not like i'll see you again right?!?!!?

the rain died down to a slight drizzle by the time we prepared to go, so we could walk from clarke quay back.
