Autumn Jacket

ok so i supposed it will be too much to say this thing can withstand winter, because it just can't so i guess the only thing it can withstand will be autumn/spring. heh. so the last i left off it was almost 2-3years ago and i only managed to finish it recently.

this is just the very basic form

then i added the collar, the mandarin pin, the sleeves edges and seamed up the ends behind. also did a few folds so the shoulder doesn't look too broad (although it still is)

and i'm finally done! still some flaws at certain places.. but oh well!

continued a bit more with my dress and added the trimmings and laced/ribbon edge. arghhh but it's so short!! damn...

DIY day

i spent my saturday customizing my clothes. was looking through the pile of fabrics i have and realised i have this very nice leather velvet thing that i'm not sure what to use for so i created a tube dress and a jacket out of it. it's still not done, as the edges are pretty raw but i have no idea what to add on to it for now.

also picked a black top and modified from this

to something like this

ok because you can't see anything without flash and flash makes the thing looks so awful, it ended up looking awful. zzz. tried to do some photobucket filters but it still doesn't look decent.

here's the back anyway. i like my tassels.

think i will use those bias tape to seam the ends so they don't look so raw.

i also dug out one of my very old jacket i bought cheaply and never wore.

the brown is sort of old though. added some buttons to hook the further and folded the collars in another way.

actually i feel it's still missing something. bleah. perhaps it should be shortened?
hmm nothing seemed to finalise today...

hoo hooo i am working on something normal for once!!!

saw this really nice bat-like coat that mary had on in mary stayed out all night, and thought i should also make one for myself...!!
so i dug out the cloth that could fit and started working on it.

here's the basic shape:

then i added some chiffon edges. blue goes pretty well with black chiffon.

Photobucket

i love my chinese collars! also added some buttons that were 'hidable' underneath the chiffon, and put on epaulettes. i love epaulettes.

Photobucket

with the brooch i bought from korea to create a bit more sparkle, we're now good to go!

Photobucket

i call this the Midnight Butterfly. sellable, don't you think...??? (",) >.< #^_^#

i bought myself a new handphone (sony ericsson w705)! for office use of course. so i went to do a double pouch for my existing samsung phone and the new sony one because i think i'll be carrying the both of them around everywhere now since i love both of them lots lots. >.<

and yeah it's the spur of the moment creation with leftover black cloth, so don't mind the plain design and outlook. beta stage. and i did it in like 20 mins.

Photobucket

stuffed my sis nokia phone with the sony one (it's hiding! but it's using my crystal strap)

Photobucket

2-in-1 pouch! wheehee! AND NO, i WON'T lose my phone for god's sake. i'll stuff it in my bra if needed. NOOOOOOO don't curse me! touch wood!!!

wanted to do sewing instead of crafts on my saturday, so i went to reform one of the shirtdress i had.

here's the before look (actually i've already started on it before i realised i should take the before/after pictures so the collars are cut and the satin sleeves are hidden in)
Photobucket
Photobucket

and here's the reformed look after giving the cut collars some pleated satin, added on sleeves and lined some ribbon applique over the pleated satins along the neckline and sleeves hole. have also cut a bit of the skirt so it flows diagonally, but the effect is not obvious. didn't remove part of the metal hole studs cos it gives a corset feeling when worn, which is not so bad. kind of low cut overall though but of cos i can always pair it with a tube.

Photobucket

Photobucket

actually wanted the sleeves to be split so i can put a button but in the end both sleeves split in the same direction so it looks kinda awkward so i stitched up the split.

i bet no one can understand what i'm saying. but i'm typing for myself, so what's wrong. xD

14th sept

spent my first weekend off from internship doing lots of random stuff. got this pack of diy cows from asakusabashi and set to work on it.
Photobucket
no sewing is required, only cutting and glueing so it's pretty easy except i'm using a pair of curved scissors for cutting my eyebrows (-_-`)
in the end it didn't turn out so bad.
Photobucket
i cooked some udon i had left for dinner with my leftover sauce. it was super salty xO
Photobucket
then after that i decided home was too boring and i went over to shibuya to meet daeyoung since he was on his way home from work. and actually, shibuya does have a weird smell lingering there. shopped at 109 for a while to look for this top i had my eyes on quite some time ago, but of cos it isn't there anymore. i was feeling pretty under the weather (new phrase i picked up) and had caught a cold and was feeling sick but didn't want to rest at home. daeyoung cheered me up with the dark chocolate given out by IKEA and green tea, and a red bean mochi because he says that sweet things make people happier. thank you! :D <3
we then headed to ikebukuro to search for my ACOS, this newly opened cosplay show affiliated with animate!. had to go animate to see where it is located exactly.
Photobucket
found it after a few tries and realised it was only just on the left side at the end of the sunshine city road, where animate! is on the right side. however, it was already closed (about 9pm+) will go back another day!

latest bible!
i'm so so so so so glad that i saw this book. it's like filled with colors, templates and detailed how-to steps... for only $27+! best thing is it teaches you how to make a large variety of clothings for cosplay, like tuxedo, kimono, jacket - don't think you can get such a good book at the same price anywhere!!

detailed how-to steps

with templates some more!!

a pretty similar pouch i made for my sister. the embroidery was horrendous. oh well.

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

with my ryuuki almost done, i used the scrap cloths to make random things... like a handphone pouch. i think the purple satins match quite nicely.

i've even embroidered a little b at the corner. that is quite ugly... oh well, here's the back.

i've even used white lining for the inner parts...

and i really want to make a handphone couch for my boss's birthday. i wonder if this is passable. i think it would really make him laugh. ughhh.

don't ask me what animal it is ok. for an even more cutesy effect, here are its legs.

and of cos the holder part. and the handphone can only be placed sideways so the holder will remain steady. bad physics. ah well.

here's my latest completion... sushi!

chomp chomp. a close-up!

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

i tried making a blue rose out of cloth as a departure / vday present for xm.

i couldn't really stick a stem in since the weight of the cloth was too much so i entwined it around a safety pin to function as a brooch instead.

hope it didn't add to her overloaded luggage!
haha.
saw this at mini toons and went to make one myself. :D it's a good investment!

shiroko-chan is its official name! i have desiced that it will be a boy. too bad i used blue pen to draw the templates so there seems to be some blue stuff all over. yikes. i brought it back to malaysia with me for the new year haha.

then the night after i went to bai nian at denzyl's, i saw this really nice foodie diy at comics and decided i would post my finished work here.

here's the finished bread set. i didn't do the chocolate bread since it's almost the same as the butter one.

and i recently got another macdonald's set! just finished it... the drink look the weirdest. i think the template they gave was kinda wrong.

ta-da!

by the way if you wanna do this, this website might help on how to do those blanket stitches.
