Nam So Yu - Blade and Soul WIP

oops didn't realise i didn't post this!
anyhow i was supposed to use this costume for comex, but it turned out that the only piece that i could use was the dress itself, and all other accessories were lost, so i had to remake all of them =_=

let's start from the head

made the flowers myself as i wasn't able to purchase similar ones. they're really just pvc with painted cores. the stigmata was all bought and stuffed in.

the hairpins weren't so hard, just a mix and match of different balls and gems.

the longer ball pin was also quite straightforward. from my great big stash of gems and dangles i managed to string together a whole chain of this. the round thing is just a painted ping pong ball~

then putting all of them together on the bun

next is the accessories on her skirt. cut and painted a piece of foam that's lined on the edge with thick string

joined a lot of small little parts and tacked them on this plate, then decorated it with flower and leaves. the chiffon ribbon was connected to tie around my waist.

moving on to her fancy necklace. i think i did the shape a little differently from the original cos i couldn't get a clear picture of it so i just used my imagination.

lastly the other cloth parts. it's just 2 piece of cloth hanging down. the way it's all joined together is more perplexing. oh i sort of remade the top of the necklace so that it's more exact to the actual.

and a final pic of everything worn together!

Princess Serenity

so... we expanded our sailor team to cover the gown version and the outer senshis for the recent stgcc event! and i got to make the dress that i most like for sailormoon, following this version.

some more picture spams of her before i go to the real thing because the artworks are all so pretty!!!

ok enough i shall start with the non-cloth part...

well, i sort of got help from jes when she dropped by my house one day by forcing her to cut all the circles for me. wahhahaha. oops. then i just had to wrap all of them up afterwards.

the shoulder part was also made out of foam. i thought this was probably the best way to maintain all the funny curves the shoulder has.

spray painting all the parts

and joining them together to form both sides
sticking in the chains of rhinestones

and fianlly drawing in the shades and lines to make it look more 3d and less flat

the crown was straightforward - just needed to dig holes in a strip of foam and stick all the crystals in, then glue all the embellishments on it.

but it was also a failure to wear. i didn't even consider how i would pin it to my head. on the event day i think i used about 20 pins to stick it to my wig. x.x

and then the wand. i got yvonne to help me paint the whole thing white one day when she came over to tailor her stuff. hhehehehe. i jut had to spray paint it afterwards.

then i stuck 3-4 pieces of crescent-cut foam together and shaved the sides so it looks rounded

the rest was just painting and glueing on embellishments to make it work. since it's foam, it's easy to stick a stick inside and glue it to the holes of the pipe.
and we move on to the main piece - the dress~
there's the all easy bustier... but i should have made the bust area bigger so that it would look like i have more boobs...

after that i laced the edges with sequin lace and pearls

then sticking on the rings. the bottom rings were sewed over since the stitches would be covered by the silver lace.

the skirt is just the usual circle skirt overlayed with the irritating glitter cloth...

then joining them together!!!

and the back ribbon is easy. there's interface underneath so it could 'stand' upright. the cloth is quite creasy so i spent some time ironing it before the event...

the final cloak. i actually had the cloak made already for cosmos so i just used it for this. figures i'll just detail everything if i wanna use it again for cosmos. the feather is pinned on. again i underestimated how much it would drop during the event. bleahs. another failed creation.

and the last thing was wig styling... i really don't like that m-shaped centre parting ting. but oh well..

oh... not to forget the moon on her forehead~ i cut out a few using pvc just in case any one gets lost...

and the whole set is done...

160101-160103 Yongin

the last few days in korea was spent at a lazy speed. we would wake up at like 2-3pm... sit around the office then have dinner/movie. and the day repeats.

so for the first day of the year, it was like that. we had my favourite roe rice, visited the supermarket and sat around the office.

bought this cute avengers drink that's called Super Power Choco Cheese. not recommended for the non-adventurous. ahahahha.

and that day i remembered i we were whacking each other like mad because he wouldn't give in and neither would i. jeez, what kind of man whacks a lady!??!?!!?!? asshole! look at my battle marks.

the next day we made our instant breakfast using instant gravy/sauce from the supermarket. at night we watched hotel transylvania 2 and goosebumps with the team.

and my last day, we woke up at 3pm again to have instant brunch.

my flight was at 620 so actually we were supposed to have moved off by then but we were slow and only managed to catch our bus at 4pm. it was so misty too!!! couldn't see anything in the distance at all.

reached around 530pm at the airport and there was a huuuuuuge crowd. luckily we managed to cut all the queues since my flight was in less than an hour. as it turned out my plane was delayed to 640 so i didn't need to rush that much.

after checking in, i got a really bad case of stomachache and quickly choped the toilet as soon as i boarded. i was so afraid the plane wouldn't be able to take off because of me, and several people kept knocking on my door to check if i was ok (i accidentally pressed the help button too). i stayed inside for about 1.5hrs and i didn't see the plane take off at all!!!!

as it turned out, there was yet another delay and the plane eventually took off close to 9pm. phew, guess i wasn't causing the delay. hahahahaah. jeez, constipation always kill me... i swear that shit i had is 0.5m long and a helluva pain to squeeze out. bwahhhhhhhhhhh............. and i guess because i was distracted i wasn't so as upset about leaving as the other times i had.

and it's back to singapore..... plane food on korean airlines is awesome. love the beef dish!

i reached around 2am and took a cab back to home. lots of stuff to unpack.

also saw saerom's christmas package for me. wheeee~!!!! it is such a HUGE fruitcake from italy.

thank you my friend!!!! *muacks*
