i had almost near to nothing to work on on friday night, so i began writing some stuff in my shinigami book.
and the events did happen (in the anime).

they started singing... byebye mr american pie... howdy-ho. yes i'm in ultimate crank mood.

Photobucket

oh yes... i can't exactly correct undertaker's english also. oh well.

Photobucket
sewing the seams took my at least 3 hours, and it's not even a big patch. i had to constantly re-hole the stupid needle cos it kept getting stuck. and did i say how much it pisses me off? i'm beginning to grow a kind of unspeakable hatred for things like this. and it's not even tied to the problem at hand.

1) seam, fold the corners and do pleats. attachment of the frills to the collar line was done by handsewing because the machine JUST CANNOT SEW so many layers. it used to be able to, at least.

Photobucket

2) add hooks behind

Photobucket

and i finallized my coat too. added the spray painted rings to the suspenders.

Photobucket

sewed on the dark blue layer and tied ribbons as hooks.

Photobucket

then added buttons. sewed up the coat's edges as well so the trim lines don't appear visible on the outer layer. coat done, hurray.

Photobucket
it's like the more you try to perfect something, the more errors that turn up. it's very irritating. first it's the weather, then people flying kites, then this and that peeling, and finally the output shows that i ought to have checked more dilligently in the first place.

well anyway, the post should be more on my emily. i gave up on the seams because it just keeps getting stuck. what should have taken an hour takes thrice as long because the device itself is just not working properly. it just pisses me off so much.

since it's gonna be hidden, it didn't really matter.

1) so i'm just gonna sew where it matters. leave gap for stuffing, of course.

Photobucket

2) flip inside out

Photobucket

3) and stuff with fluff

Photobucket

4) sew together

Photobucket

5) and put on the damn clothes. oh, and cut some bundles off my existing wig, colored it brown, tied together and uhu glued onto the head. sewed on the red ribbon.

Photobucket

and i cannot find a more relevant chain of events that could have perpetrated the problem. i'm really at the end of my patience.

how to make a cheap bouquet of flowers in 2hours (whilst in between animes, of course)

1) cut petals (fold it numerous times and cut together - my max is 3 at once)

Photobucket

2) cut the leaves (had leftover green felt and used up all of them

Photobucket

3) bunch the petals together with wires. uhu glue the leaves in various places.

4) wrap the flowers in paper, wire the bottom so the bunch stays.

Photobucket

total: $2 white felt + $0.80 wires = $2.80

how to make cheap dog biscuits

1) daiso $2 clay... cut the patterns out using penknife or metal ruler

2) use a toothbrush/painbrush and dab the surface to produce a rough look

3) brown spraypaint

Photobucket

4) put in jar!

Photobucket

total: $2 clay + $2 jar = $4

how to make cheap eyepatch

1) cut from some leftover black cotton cloth the semi-rounded shape (2pieces, preferably connected 2 pieces) - no sewing is really needed since the cloth don't get unthreaded at the sides easily

2) stitch patch onto elastic band. uhu glue the 2 sides of the patch.

Photobucket

total: err... free?

Photobucket

for the shirt itself, 2 pieces each. 2 long strips on top and bottom for neck frills.
Photobucket

for the thing he hangs around his neck and his outer coat.
Photobucket

and emily!

completed a hell lot of xarxes break. went materials shopping with maomao at chinatown and arab street on monday.

Photobucket

managed to sew on the buttons, suspenders and the hooks.

Photobucket

the back - can you see tiny little hook?

Photobucket

also did clothes for emily (on sat)

Photobucket

too late to post a tutorial (and too lazy) but oh wells. the ribbons here. and i just realised her little ribbon is red! stupid refernce pic with shadow shows purple. ughh.

Photobucket

and finished the boots lining as well. the curves were a killer. spent like 2.5hours sewing all the curves. looks ugly when near. bwahahha.

Photobucket

managed to hot glue the brown pouch break has before going over to claude's on sunday.

Photobucket

yay! hotglue rocks! i even have a black inner for it. so it looks really usable!

Photobucket

attached the chains on monday after getting them from arab street. used hooks so i can detach them if i'm washing the coat. (um, not 'if', but 'when'.)

Photobucket

spent about 2.5hours cutting out break's inner purple shirt from cosmode type b pattern for baroque's jacket. of cos sewing it is much easier! zzzz. it's the cutting that's hard!!! and time consuming. and i don't even know how to measure. yet. GRRRRR. GRRRRRR. GRRRRRRRR.
tested my scar wax cos i thought i was gonna have a national day shoot. in the end cancelled. oh wells.

the wax
Photobucket

after 'painting' with foundation > loose powder > bronzer > brown shadows > dark brown highlights
Photobucket

did one on my face as well, but it's not that obvious.
Photobucket

could do better at 'painting'. loose powder maybe apply later, cos it looked quite flaky after the loose powder.
spent national day as a wig model. val and alison took almost 3hours styling v-13 wig for me. kudos to their patience. and i learnt a new word. that long thing sticking out is called an ahoge. gatsby spray really rocks too. super hard styling...

oh and alison's plaits are awesome!!! so much better than the one i did. boohoo.

Photobucket

i actually packed it in a bag with the ahoge sticking out. don't really wanna put in the open to collect dust.

thought i'd just post the process as well so this can become some sort of learning place in the future. hmmm. haaaa.

for xarxes break sleeves!

1) measure. cut cloth. (ok i suck at explaining). attach the part that's supposed to flip at the write area. sew on linings for the flip down part around the armpit area.
Photobucket

2) fold in half and sew along. the wrist folded part should be flipped up before sewing! after that, flip inside out. ta-da!

as my sis already said... there's a character that's very much like undertaker in pandora hearts. and he's xarxes break.

aside from his awesome personality (super funny... and creepy at times), i also like his appearance (those clothes!!) so i've decided i'll do this character. (i actually started work yesterday on his coat, haha.) and he carries this cute doll called emily around. 8D

Photobucket

Photobucket

detailed drawings

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

and i just love this pose. i'm so gonna do this for photoshoot. haha!

Photobucket
after 3 days of spraying... here's my neckplate! made from clay and carved using a toothpick. hur hur.

Photobucket

and the metal parts for the leotard

Photobucket

finally purchased my skinsuit from ebay after much negotiations... waiting for it to come! then i can do my modifications. hopefully before i leave in sept...

Photobucket

huh? is v-13 that hard? yeah for the sword of cos it is... but nooo way am i gonna do that...

Tuesday, August 04, 2009

went home.. and had a shocking discovery that my entire table is messed up and my props were broken. and i haven't even debut my kimimaro sword, it's in 4 pieces now.

supposed to be a tidied state... but ended up in disarray instead. sighss. i know it took a lot of effort to clean, but sometimes i just wish you left things as they were.

so after a mad rush of putting my stuff back in order... i had about 1.5hours for my undertaker.

Photobucket

it's not gonna be obvious in photos, but for completion sake, i added the skirt to my inner top.

Photobucket

woke up with long dream of chasing and being chased. what a tiring night.
