spent about 2+ hours to style grell's wig because i didn't have a proper stand so it keeps falling over. sighs...

Photobucket

and i got the specs but it's not the exact same shape. arrghhh whatever, because the shape changes in different pictures too. bleahs!

Photobucket

redid the vest because the bottom is supposed to be a straight edge.

my little brown extension that i ordered from taobao arrived, but i didn't use it because it wasn't very brown at all. instead i used one of the existing browner extensions i owned and sewed it on the doll.

i shall cut the hair later. it kinda creeps me out now though. hmmm... maybe she wants to keep the hair long...? don't know why i'm reminded of dong li huo che when i see her...

for the chain on grell's specs... was beading them together while watching kaichou wa maido sama. now i just need to wait for my earphones to spoil... then i can put the skulls in. and where to find the funny shaped glasses he has?!

i'm seriously in love with this BONDO thing. it seems to work better than super glue. i think i'll classify it as the smart glue category. it's kinda like white glue when you apply - you have some time to make adjustment until it dries and turn transparent. that's when it starts to really stick and harden!!!

plus it's not as messy as uhu glue, doesn't bulge and leave webbed traces, and doesn't leak when you leave it alone (mine always leak, don't ask me why). it's also cheaper!! i had an easier time sticking the red strips onto my white ribbon base!

Photobucket

yes it's that yellow bottle you see in the picture. sorry my iphone camera sucks.

finished the base of the doll. looks very voodoo. don't you just love his/her pose? maybe i should name it... Ling (spirit/zero in chinese) might be appropriate for it...

Photobucket

and sewed on pockets for grell's coat. yay. used my own pocket sewing method and underestimated the width. darn. oh well, not like it's gonna be obvious...

Photobucket

bought this wig for grell too

hopefully these skulls would work as well...

recent completions which i've yet uploaded... finally bought the satin bias tape to finish the black borders...

Photobucket

and a big ribbon for the back of the coat! maybe i'll just pin it on... zzz lazy!

Photobucket

Monday, August 16, 2010

templates all cut out...

Photobucket

and sewed on!

Photobucket

i only bought like 2 packets of the bias tape so in the end i didn't have enough. continue again when i buy it today...

at least i managed to finish my vest!

Photobucket

it is reversible!!! here's the brown side

Photobucket

and here's the black side. i used the back of the satin i had leftover from pandora to do it. at first it was just supposed to be lining for the vest, then i thought what the heck, i need a black vest anyway so might as well do a reversible one. hohoho! i'm so proud of this one though it looks slightly imbalanced when worn, but that could be solved with a few pins ><

Photobucket

but my sister just laughed at my poor sewing job. wah kaooooos.... T.T
character i'm gonna be doing for shoot.. ta-da!

Photobucket

yes smexxxyyyy i'll be doing the doll chainsaw is a waste of my space at home..

lightgrapher's photo is really very amazing.

i had almost near to nothing to work on on friday night, so i began writing some stuff in my shinigami book.
and the events did happen (in the anime).

they started singing... byebye mr american pie... howdy-ho. yes i'm in ultimate crank mood.

Photobucket

oh yes... i can't exactly correct undertaker's english also. oh well.

how to make a cheap bouquet of flowers in 2hours (whilst in between animes, of course)

1) cut petals (fold it numerous times and cut together - my max is 3 at once)

Photobucket

2) cut the leaves (had leftover green felt and used up all of them

Photobucket

3) bunch the petals together with wires. uhu glue the leaves in various places.

4) wrap the flowers in paper, wire the bottom so the bunch stays.

Photobucket

total: $2 white felt + $0.80 wires = $2.80

how to make cheap dog biscuits

1) daiso $2 clay... cut the patterns out using penknife or metal ruler

2) use a toothbrush/painbrush and dab the surface to produce a rough look

3) brown spraypaint

Photobucket

4) put in jar!

Photobucket

total: $2 clay + $2 jar = $4

how to make cheap eyepatch

1) cut from some leftover black cotton cloth the semi-rounded shape (2pieces, preferably connected 2 pieces) - no sewing is really needed since the cloth don't get unthreaded at the sides easily

2) stitch patch onto elastic band. uhu glue the 2 sides of the patch.

Photobucket

total: err... free?

tested my scar wax cos i thought i was gonna have a national day shoot. in the end cancelled. oh wells.

the wax
Photobucket

after 'painting' with foundation > loose powder > bronzer > brown shadows > dark brown highlights
Photobucket

did one on my face as well, but it's not that obvious.
Photobucket

could do better at 'painting'. loose powder maybe apply later, cos it looked quite flaky after the loose powder.

went home.. and had a shocking discovery that my entire table is messed up and my props were broken. and i haven't even debut my kimimaro sword, it's in 4 pieces now.

supposed to be a tidied state... but ended up in disarray instead. sighss. i know it took a lot of effort to clean, but sometimes i just wish you left things as they were.

so after a mad rush of putting my stuff back in order... i had about 1.5hours for my undertaker.

Photobucket

it's not gonna be obvious in photos, but for completion sake, i added the skirt to my inner top.

Photobucket

woke up with long dream of chasing and being chased. what a tiring night.

Monday, August 03, 2009

made some leg belts for my undertaker. oh yeah... he's so punk!

i styled this before cosfest itself. not sure why when i wore it it looked so horrible. zzz. (oh, and this is my sis, so bishie xD has potential le)

Photobucket

and here, photo editing on my samsung f480 HANDPHONE. not too bad. i didn't like my half left-eye so i brought more focus to other parts and used a pre-set effect. not too bad.

Photobucket
worked on my shinigami book for the weekend, and popped over to popular to get the sticky plastic cover.

used my graduation gift cover and spray painted it brown. the rest is cut outs in between animes.

sighss.. it looked more obvious than expected - the plastic sheen. oh well.

Photobucket

Photobucket

went to rip off my top hat and made it flat. was thinking about it for very long...

Photobucket

Photobucket

added an additional flap at the back of the robe. well, it's NOT visible at all considering how long undertaker's hair is but so what...

we were interviewed during the event! uwahh...

oh gosh i look so horrible!

moo! i made a mistake! my entire cos is $160, but the scythe is only $100. lols. oh wells!

Tuesday, July 07, 2009

i removed my scythe ring and replaced it with white wires... but wasn't that satisfied so now i removed it again and wrapped it with white wire and metal wire. looks thicker than the previous one but at least it can twirl and hold up by itself instead of drooping with just white wires.

spray painted this morning before i left home.
