Harry Potter + Andy Warhol

ok so my bestie gave me an awesome early birthday treat at the harry potter museum <3>

so we were only allowed to take pictures at the entrance of the exhibition...

and yay! we're from gryffindor!!

 some posters before we enter...
yeah when harry was younger he was so much cuter... erhurhur

so since we were in the queue and absolutely bored.. zipai.

yeah yeah i know we weren't allowed to take pictures, but what's the fun if you can't take pictures?
seriously, singapore exhibitions need to be more lax...! if you're writing up on the place, pictures could really help to promote it, no?

and we begin with a giant chess piece, then the entry to the dorms. there's moving frames and the fat lady perpetually wailing.

the staff on patrol was really alert to flashes and screens and one of the malay woman even warned us that she will throw us out if she caught us again. jeez. way to go to spoil someone's experience.

but hey the mandrake is cute and we can't resist a photo of its plucked form xD

then there's awesome mythical creatures as seen in the movies (less real here though)

and you can throw some balls throw the loops on their make-shift quidditch port!
if you look at their costumes in detail, you can see that it's really very well-made.
and here's the amazing grand hall!

kyaaaa the dresses worn at the yule ball!!! <3 p="p">

this was the last hall before we reach the souvenir place. the malay guard actually came up to us and demanded we erase all the photos we took. when we said we were already getting out, she went out to get another malay guy to stop us. wow! the lengths you guys go to. but i'm sorry it's too late. there's such things called upload as you snap (not what i did, but hey, technology runs faster that what you can think).

we then went to andy warhol museum. i didn't find it very fascinating but apparently xm loves it. there's a photo booth at the back - don't go there! it's just a photo ID thing, and it doesn't work. hur. so much for 30 mins of fame. and it seems our malay friend kept following us around. if only she will catch us again... you'll have no peace from us!

so we went for dinner at ma maison at mandarin orchard for tonkatsu after that, and ended our day~~

MAF at HCJC

i almost died today because i had badminton at 7 in the morning, shoot till 4pm, then MAF. thank goodness my shoot ended early because i was almost dying from heat exhaustion (and i really meant it, my face was pale and my heart was constricted, thought i was gonna faint any moment). then i got ready to go MAF.

wow, it's been almost 10 years since we graduated. the first sights that i was greeted with...

an island of construction. where is my school!!!

haha. everyone we know is gone, except bewkyh. we went to have a little dinner snack before we hop back to MAF.

this year's lighting display is AWESOME. here.

but of course that's not why it's awesome, it still looks like it did in yesteryears.
the true reason is because they did it with iljimae music in the background. whoever did it, must be a junki fan. HAHA! love you!!!!!!

we hung around for a bit at our class bench, etc, but we didn't really see any familiar faces. oh well!

we then hope over to KAP for a mini celebration for HW at mac + some ice-cream. and that was how our MAF ended.

LoV monster!

making the monster was really tough... there was only me and yvonne. we didn't do a monster from the series - yvonne designed it herself in fact.
we started with the head from sara, then expanded the rest ourselves. the head is god-almighty HUGE.
we then spent almost one whole day to cut all the damn scales... so that we can paste it everywhere.

here's what our lovely meg did with the sprayed head.

we then did 6 tails to start with and stuck all the scales on.

guess what the insides were stuffed with. yes the monster speaks korean. lol.
wanted a feel like this
then sprayed painted everything silver

had to repaste, restuff and respray everything at least 3 times. GRAH. having kangaroo glue+paint all over your hands is NO FUN. had to spend almost half an hour washing each time. grrrrr.

worked out the hands in the same method...

the sticks were too long here so i cut them into halves and placed the stick near the palm so it could 'control' the hands.

the hands sort of need to be movable so we created joints, then wrapped with newspaper before sticking with scales.

then is the monster body. what a pain. we bought foams from the army market, cut into pieces and tried to stick it up with poles and cable ties.

did a skin for it (actually it didn't need to be cut in parts since it would be covered...
yvonne kept insisting it looks like a huge skirt. haha. stuck the scales on both side.
had to spray paint it 3-4 times so the color will stick...

oh ya we gave it ears made out of pandora patterns. hurhur. can reuse later!

when we finally stuck everything together...

and with all the leds~
sighs. it was just sad that these didn't work during the performance T____T oh well. and now dear draggie's gone...
