Day 1 00 Chinatown

meeting my dearest since the last time i saw him, which was 3 months ago.. so exciting!
unfortunately or fortunately, i fell ill just 2 days ago, like in the middle of work. just started to sneeze and had boogie dripping. the next day was just as terrible, but i managed to pull through work. had bad headaches at night and took mc on friday. slept at 8pm for the 2 days but i kept waking up every 2 hrs to pee and drink water cos my sore throat was so bad T_T

even with the mc, i had to get up at 5+ and bus over to copthorne, where his buddy and his wife will be staying at. we met up so super early and it started raining so super early, that we didn't really know what to do afterwards. decided to eat breakfast at copthorne's buffet area in the end to while the time away before check in (at 2pm). even while sick, i still had appetite so i ate what i could hehe. it was 25++ per person if you had a room there and 38++ if not, so i can't let it go to waste can i....

after eating, we taxi-ed over to chinatown as the guys didn't have ez link yet. got the tourist past at $30 for 3 days of unlimited traveling with a refundable $10. come to think of it, considering the cheap transport fees here, it was really not that worth it. we then stopped at a Chinatown Heritage Hostel, where it's highly raved on Korean Naver blogs for the cheap ticket sales, and got our tickets for USS, Jurong Bird Park, Cloud/Rainforest Dome, River Cruise for the next few days.

Explored the Sri Mariaman temple and the aircon Chinese temple, walked around chinatown a bit before it was time to head back to the hotel. got my dear's luggage, then we taxi-ed back home. as Uber was having a $5 promotion on Uber pool, we used it and very fortunately, there was no one to pool with us so we paid just $5 for the long trip home. wheeee!

after refreshing ourselves and napping for a bit, we got up around 7+ and uber-ed over to Orchard to meet the couple for dinner. ate the mala hotpot at Food republic but it tasted too salty that day. they liked the hokkien mee though! we then had desserts at llaollao and ate the choco churros as well. seongju and nare really liked the yoghurt~

(and dear namchin was very impressed with the camera effects)

it was pretty late already so we took a quick walk from somerset to orchard, then headed home.

131222 Incheon

Incheon is actually known for the chinatown, and it's not the same place as the airport. in fact, they are pretty far apart. so you have to stop at the bus terminal for the sightseeing here.

anyway we were supposed to meet jaebong and his gf for a double date at incheon, at 12pm. we had breakfast at dunkin on the bus. love how you can eat on public transport. hoho. there were new wraps and breakfast menu! dunkin should change their specialty to breakfast and wraps, seriously...

we were early so we shopped around a bit. visited the twosome cafe, since it kept being featured in the drama series master's sun!

toffee white choco thingy was nice~

dear biting on the straw cos he's hungry (or has nothing to do)

we waited for like 5hours before the couple finally arrives. jeez. how can anyone be late for so long?!?!? jinmi (bong's gf) brought a nice cupcake present for us. oops i didn't get anything *embarrassed* we had it for breakfast the next day, though it was all smashed from walking around the whole day...

and we finally got to chinatown at night.

the dumplings chives weren't too bad here.

ended up at a hundred-year jajangmyeon house. there was a queue but thankfully we got seats within 5-10mins.

the interiors were pretty nice!

why, what's wrong with being touristy....

we ordered like 3 jajangmyeons and 2 jangbong for the 4 of us.

TOO MUCH. they have the white jajangmyeon, but to be honest, the jajangmyeon we always order for delivery tastes better than all of them...

after that we went to the express bus terminal for drinking, and we got lost with no contact from both side. thankfully jaebong called up using his gf's phone, but jaebong couldn't find the place at the terminal and we headed to a stop down nearer to gangnam, where the place we were supposed to go... didn't exist anymore. the whole building disappeared - what are the chances, man!?!?

ended up just at a random drinking house, which wasn't so bad. was a pretty fun night~

131030-31 Hotel RE

Back at Singapore, we checked in at Hotel RE at Outram Park, a very interesting and colorful boutique hotel.

We had single beds with pink background for the first night and double bed with yellow background as they kindly changed for us.

there was also free snacks and drinks on the first day of your stay. but because we changed rooms, we got to enjoy it twice... haha!

we had dinner at a nearby cafe, after searching around and there was not much restaurants in sight. the downside of the hotel is you need to climb a mini hill to reach it =_= though there was shuttle bus to take you to Outram MRT, it only took you down, and not up, and service ends around 8pm (i think).

unfortunately, the night at the cafe, i lost my wallet and had to make a report at the police box. i must have either left it at the cafe, or while fooling around it fell out of my jacket T_T

thankfully, around 2am, the police actually called and said they retrieved it!! but when i tried to collect it, it was already moved to the police box at geylang =_= and they took a few days to call back to confirm that it was moved, so that i can collect it. by then i had already cancelled all my cards though. losing one's wallet is the worst nightmare ever...

the next day, we walked around chinatown to eat but crayfish wasn't opened T_T the bad thing was 00 was having problems with his credit card cos it was maxed out, and since i couldn't get my wallet back, we were both basically moving around without any $$. OMG. good thing is you can quickly make a card at a local DBS, and i could get a new card and withdraw money out. phew...!!!!
