160702-03 Cosfest

so on saturday i attended as katana with the rest of the suicide squad team. whee! woke up early so yvonne and i could practise for wcs in the morning.
doing katana for the 3rd time, so didn't really feel like taking any photos. fortunately there's lots of people who took so i just grabbed from here and there.

took photos of the jail and the bartop too~

we did a group performance and a solo catwalk.

and when event ended, so glad i got a free trip home from kurumi who was going to woodlands too. yay!

and sunday is a battle day. i was actually sick from thursday and only recovered slightly on sat. but i think i heal when i'm overwhelmed, sometimes. =_= so it was actually a good thing. not that i want to be in the same situation again...

our costumes are so thick that we really didn't want to step outside. so the total no. of photos i took for the day was just 2.

my eyes look so lifeless. ughhh. it looks as sick as me.

in any case. there's still photos from the public! here's the teams. only 4 participated this year.

after the performance we were all required to do some catwalk..

so from this day forth, habaek and soah wedded on stage. haha.

and we're the winners! we had some mistakes on stage due to my lack of lighting knowledge but oh well... at least our 2 weeks of preparation was well worth it! even though we slacked towards the end thinking we probably wouldn't win...

we really super quickly took off our costume and ran to the toilets.
my bladder suffered for the day...

then we had dinner at soup spoon but not in a celebratory mode as we were worrying over how we were gonna come up with a new costume in less than 1 month. T_T

cosfest XI: ACM

ok, acm is finally over. i can't remember when this long drawn battle started, but i can finally have a 'normal' life again. chionging for half a year is definitely straining mentally and physically. the amount of poisonous gas i have absorbed is making me dumb, and my injuries are gonna take a hell of a time to heal.

even though many things didn't work, we missed some beats, i think i'm still quite proud of our final work. imagine having only 2 person work out this entire monster!! that's already quite an accomplishment. we have so much props we almost had to call a lorry to carry everything over but i'm glad my er zi came to the rescue with his gigantic van *_*

you should have seen how the 4 of us heaved the monster downstairs and squashed it in the elevator. it was such morbid work. and we shifted everything at like 530am in the morning and reached DTE 7plus to repair the whole chunk. our LEDs were all broken so we had to call for emergency help. khai's parents were really supportive and helped us fixed so many things!! acks.

for day 2, participated in the final cure walk with the acm representatives. i'm at 4.55mins!

cosfest x.2: 霹雳

cosfest x.2 wasn't exactly the most fantastic event for me this time, but it was still a memorable one. perhaps participating in the performance and the show wasn't exactly a good choice since i spent 3/4 of time waiting and waiting and waiting, and i'm not exactly sure if it was that worth it in the end. well, at least there were some shows that were worth waiting for!

Day 1 Cosfest x.2

so first up, the korean superstars (oh jeez, the name still sends a tingle up me) with their onepiece catwalk. the 4 members are kong1, kong2 (that's my idol on the rightmost - sorry not familiar with onepiece characters so not sure what's all the names...), dangerous man and ekiholic (the only girl).

then followed by the HUGE NUMBER OF 20secs each. it was interesting at the beginning, but soon my attention just dwindled.

i'm in the second half, which started round 3pm? but honestly i didn't walk too well. so don't bother watching it. and they played some crappy song after lacrimosa which totally didn't fit my character (was athena dress version that day) so there wasn't any mood to walk for me. oh well at least i received an encouraging punchgrab from my idol. *_*

actually i'm not sure whether it was after or before the walk, but the koreans also performed Ao no exorcist... which is seriously a must-watch! my friend is sying they have packed action, hot babe, BL, and great storyline all at once. and of cos, there's a cute rin by 000. heehee.

the day ended of with sounds of x.2, a symphonic orchestra playing all the music from animes and gmes. i'm so glad they've put ff songs inside and guess what? they have ff8, eyes on me!!!! it was the piano and ending version, but it was still awesome that they;ve listed it as one of the items. and i had someone special just beside me to listen with. this is probably the happiest part of my day!! <3<3<3

Day 2 Cosfest x.2

this is the day everyone's been waiting for, the WCS competition. this year there's 4 groups participating, and the gundam team had to drop out since they couldn't make it in time :[

we have a grand opening by the korean men, who were doing rayblade. ok it's not rayblade, it's a korean masked rider thingy, but i keep remembering it as rayblade. OH YA it's rayforce. i've always liked their armours, and how they can fight so effortlessly in them. 00 was saying that he couldn't move well in them and had to practise the whole night (yes, like just the day before), and i'm glad it turned out well! check out the flying gimmick they used. and yes poor 00 had to tumble off stage again. ouch.

there's 4 performances but i'm just gonna show the winner and the runner up. although the teams get lesser, the quality has risen still.

here's the runner-up, samurai warriors. don't you just love the creepy ranmaru doll...

and here's the representative this year, from genesis of aquarion. the feathered dress is gorgeous, and so is the robot.

there were like about 30 singing teams that day. and i waited from 3-7pm before our performance could occur. not entirely pleased with it as we weren't introduced properly, which was kinda sad since we wanted the pili series to be more well-known. oh well. remember to never accept such stuff again. bleahs.

changed in half an hour and went off to a dinner of awesome dimsum+macdonal dinner with the jiakbuibui people, and at least that helped wrap the day nicely!

i didn't get to meet them for dinner before they flew off, as i was having my lessons. thanks to sara's phone i was able to receive a lot of funny calls and messages from my idol which cheered me up at work greatly. i'm still laughing over the part where i told him 가고 싶어요 and he replied, me too! 보고 싶어요! well, that's why i can't really speak properly over phone =.=

we had a nice time at TCC chatting and eating bakwa before they flew off. 00's crunchy caramel drink only came when they were about to leave and i had the honor of finishing it off for him after we sent them off... whwhahhah!

i got hugx3 that day, so happy <3 사랑해요!

oh yeah, cosfest was a huge media attraction this year - look at the zao an nin hao program in the morning...

Everything has finally come to a premature end!

Nik, for driving our things to and fro, during unearthly hours, and for helping to pack and carry our things to and fro. and for cheering me up with all your lame stories and funny sound effects, and for helping my mom eat up all the food 8D

Shek, for helping with the circuit at such a last minute notice and for providing a place with all my junk, and all the trips you had to make driving the stuff to and from multiple places... Now that I'm mentioning it I feel so bad I think you deserve a big treat *_*

Kazu, for providing us a place to stay when we knocked on your doors at 6am!! (yes why are you guys still awake I wonder)

Miho, for helping us get the LEDs and getting lost when you couldn't find me - and all the PVC folding woes!

Night, for tolerating rina's nonsense and helping us with the n-th failed attempt at making that horrendous jar x.x

Kula and the other big guy at the event (I didn't even get your name!) for helping out at the semi finals, taping us here and there, stapling, gluing, sticking pins everywhere etc - we would have been super 手忙脚乱 without you!
Sara and yui, for being our wonderful helpers at the PK round. You appeared so miraculously when we needed you!!! What would we have done with lugging all the props ourselves I wonder...!! And I'm so proud of you guys!! You are Singapore's representatives!! You made it!!!

Yokey, for coming over with Nik at like 3am to lug all those stuff to the chalet - sorry we made your place so super squeeze with all those stuff and we even accidentally took back your wig lol hope you didn't have to restyle it much again!

Vio laokong for helping me lug those stuff in the rain and for arranging our background in the early hours during the day of the competition T-T

Judas for lending us the chalet to put our stuff even though i was so mean to you x.x oh no I think I haven't repaid you - have you gotten enough fill of the bakwa though?!

Tkh and steph, Jason, for organizing all of these and putting in the surprise pk round - it was the most strenuous time of my life but I do think it was a great experience anyway!! Cosfest 万歳! Even though I was disallowed to do some stuff it eventually became ok heh

Master Bao! I know we have failed you terribly, but thank you for helping us with all the action scenes and prop tips! To think I kena scolded more by you because I keep forgetting my actions -.- I fail blah 都已经说了教我们会是个坚苦的一条路...! But I'm still very glad we have you *_*

denzyl, for the night i needed you and for listening to all my woes... T_T

My family for tolerating all the mess that we created, the late night vacuuming, the noise, the dust... Etc. Sorry dad you had to sit in the kitchen and can't watch your shows because of us :( but I think you were the most tolerant of everyone, with the least complaints, and you even suggested ideas and brought home random materials for us TT I love you. And mom, always cooking lots of food for my friends and having a super hard clean up time because I wasn't as thorough - I did try though!

rina hamster! you really drove me crazy with all the rolling around, i swear you are the reincarnation of my previous nightmare. you pulled me into all this and doubled the monster in me. i may have dissedand chided and threatened to murder you off a gazillion times but you will still partner me all the same?!?!?!?! i don't know where else i can find such a tolerant partner ever again T_T and you were such a cute entertainment too >< *throws the kurobara corpse* i'm still quite sad i didn't get to see your individual though :( but i will still whack you next time hurhur

dearest team mate yvonne - you had absolutely no experience in on stage acting and fighting and making such glittery armour and stuff but you did a fantastic job!!!! all the late nights was worth it! even though we didn't win, i think you really deserve a resounding applause for the wonderful, wonderful costumes that you remade 3 times :D my bishie tin man <3i'm glad i have such a mature and understanding partner, and one who definitely shares the same sentiments as me and thinks the same way! i'm so glad i know you!!!!!!!

Yong jin, for the popeye that was not supposed to be paid by you... Lol sorry I had to take the fish burger from ya x.x and Noooooo you didn't eat the bakwa?! And please come back to cosplay more, you're really not that old!

It has been a wonderful cosfest o(^▽^)o

oh my!!! i have kept this blog stale for 2 months!!! and i see a lot of spam on my tagboard =.=|||

so i'm just done with ACM and i'm getting my normal life back bit by bit, and formulating all kinds of grand plan for next year. This competition might have just drained half my life, but it was still pretty worth it since i did hit several objectives xD for those whom i've talked to, they will know...

i'm now free of the name!

actually i'm quite lazy to type what's been happening, but here's a clip of what we did for ACM semi finals



as you can see, many things failed and there were 3 groups who tied... so into the final PK round we enter! improved on the skit and made several changes, can you see the difference??? hahahah



and because i'm biased i shall only advertise the korea team here. first up is the guest performance by seungyong and myeongseon.



lots of mistakes, but still, spectacular mistakes hahahahah!

this is the winning malaysia team, wcs reps of this year - sky and yuan cross.



and the malaysia team with the awesome robot! it looks really neat up close. very awesome for someone doing mecha for the first time.



this is the winning team for wcs singapore this year, sara and yui - so proud of them!!! team SOS!!! hahahaha YAYYYYYYY. their skit was engaging, pretty and entertaining, really very nice!!!



and the winners of ACM 2011 $10,000 goes to.... KOREA!!!



and taeyeon's individual was just splendid! too bad they didn't get the individual. thailand did - their karas is really nice!

and kyungmin's one piece individual. very creative and cute skit, with a dramatic end



i quite like zoey's individual too - lots of fans! although it was a bit long for some parts.



and taeyeon's individual is pretty awesome too!!! she transformed from her lavish gown to an awesome robot!! and i love the transition. if only she'd cut down the repetitive sword slashing in front and change faster, would be perfect
