140705 Karas Photoshoot

ok, so i was stuck in CSL headquarters working on props the whole day till photoshoot time for karas.

karas is a particularly sentimental piece to me since it was the first cosplay i did with 00. however the people taking the shoot today was ark and taeyeon. still, it was good to watch them *_* Giro-ssi was the photog. pardon all my dark photos since it was dark. waky was helping out (and my he has grown crazy puiiii) haha.

i didn't think that ekou's yurine was the same yurine. it seems that yurine left ekou but they were together at the beginning. which meant that i was 00's yurine that time too, right? *_* heheheh.

we had dinner around 10+ after the shoot ended - sundae-guk (like intestines soup.....)

they took the intestines out for me but the meat was still too much. the soup was nice though!

and we went home via express bus that was near the park. should have came via there before.... =_= (we took bus > mrt > cab previously, so lol.)

Day 2

Actual performance day! Wow! Woke up around 7 and thought we were gonna be late since the gathering time was 9am (930with the leeway Lopez gave?!) but in the end, everyone was late and we only started around 10+am. ms just got up, and his hair looked like the guy in the arigato gojaimasu mv person - i couldn't stop laughing. lol. helped style his hair a bit before we went to the rehearsal area.

yurineが褒められて嬉しいです。 err but maybe it was probably only positive greetings?! lol I was so scared I wouldn't be up to standard :( the wig was heavy to wear because it was made up of 1 main wig, 2 ponytails and 2 extensions, but my back hair kept moving to front, making my extensions seem very bulky urghhhh and the goggles keep falling down, covering my eyes. didn't really have other ideas on how to keep them up except to spam pins. (I hardly full test my costumes oops)

at the rehearsal place, only karas team was there, aiyoh! there was a little taokaka there, and she was pretty cute. i was very shocked to hear all the guys talk about the color of underwear she should be wearing though... and when she helped arrange sephiroth's hair... sephiroth buried his face in her boobs!!! he then told me 'namja ya' - and what?! he's a guy?!?!? what the!!!! and gosh he/she talks like a girl too!!! x_x omg i just got screwed. LOOK AT HOW CUTE S/HE IS!!!


since there was nothing to do i went around taking pictures :D

and then with Neo, from matrix. joked about me being trinity, and 0 to do morpheus. LOLLLLLLLLL agent smith leh?!



anyway, ms wanted ice cream, and as we were still considered pretty early even when it was already 1030 or so and there don't seem to be any rehearsal taking place, we went to walk around the park to get dippin dots. It's actually where he worked at, and he kept saying that he felt very embarrassed to go back since it was his day off. Haha. Chocolate dipping dots on him, yay!



We then went back to see everyone nua-ing there in half armour lol. jimin was sleeping in his armour...



and 0 was just sitting there switching his armour lights on and off...



=.= wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moved all our stuff to the performance area and followed up with photo taking session at the garden.

0 was like the main attraction there because his armor was so freaking awesome although he was called kamen rider robot monster and whatnots by the little kids lol, and jimin's white armor was also popular too. Ww feels very honored to be standing with them for photos! Ww (was feeling fat and too big to be yurine even with all their praises) the only disappointment was we didn't much get a full team photo because when rain was there ms wasn't and the other way round, and it seemed like rain went off to take care of luggage and ms wasn't interested in taking photos as he looked like he wasn't cosplaying.

We wrapped the whole session with a group photo at 12, before we walked to the performance area.



Karas was the 4th to perform, but I was too damn nervous even though it wasn't even a competition. Rain was the emcee and he joked about emphasizing on karas when announcing the performance. 다섯,내,새,둘,하나 , Aja karas! And i managed to get the video from Arsene! All credits to WonderCosplay.

Realised i didn't coordinate too well with rain T___T i'm sorry...
but still, I got an armor hug ♥

0's armor totally got destroyed by jimin, one of the plates fell out when jimin flipped over 0, but whatever it is, everyone was just awesome!!! Whee~~!!!

0 took off his whole costume since it was pretty tattered and we went over to the other side to find Saerom. There was a long sailormoon performance going on and we waited till everything was over before we all gathered on stage for the results and group photo. 0 stayed behind because he didn't want to appear in his retro shining purple inner costume ( I thought it looked pretty cool though!) There wasn't much deliberation - the results were announced immediately by rain.

And last but not least, there was also the best costumes award going to the persona team. Very unique costumes (even though I prefer saerom's) I'd say this team would be the next best to get the award - I think they probably didn't want duplicates in the seeds so everyone gets a prize.

The best performance went to saerom's rg Veda (sorry I'm skipping a lot of teams) - I love their costumes!!! We looked at it in closer proximity an it was just very intricate. All I can say is their performance was as beautiful as them - and I'm glad they got the best performance award in the end, even though I rooted for them to be the representatives.

The representatives this year was monster hunter, their costumes were freaking awesome, though I've never seen it in game. Saerom's right, in the end it's hard to triumph over a monster Cosplay, especially if the monster gorilla is as well done as this one - it's huge!! And they even have wing activation for the final strike... Woo! Definitely waaaay better than our monster hunter.

After the whole thing, we packed an moved our things back to the rehearsal area, where there was a short introduction of all the overseas cosplayers and Korean wcs representatives. There was even a Q&A session for the attendants and they asked about our age... Zzz it wrapped up with a short social interaction before we went off to change out and get ready for dinner at 6pm.

Dinner was BBQ!! Haha! Seriously they really attended to or every requests, and I felt so embarrassed and overwhelmed by their hospitality. took some last minute photos before we departed. got this video from caruto!!

we then said farewell to everyone and left to take our return bus to seoul's hostel. while waiting for the bus... hee~~
ommm manyong-lee is so cute!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for the trip and you know what, even if it didn't happen, i'm still very very happy for the thought *_* 감사감사



and the 2 translators, hyun jin and yong jin (his english sounds so much like shawn, i was mistaken when he called the next day. booboo...)



Yong jin accompanied us all the way, and even helped us find our hostel as well as bought us a dozen of krispy kremes (which became my breakfast for the next few days). 。・°°・(＞_＜)・°°・。he lent me his jacket over the past 2 days when I was at everland and I almost lost it, I'm such a scatterbrain and I don't take care of people's things properly (/ _ ; ) thank goodness it was found in the end (if nit I was considering making one for him when I go back) hmmm. Yes more bakwas for you guys next time ok!?

i finally completed yurine costume!!!

took out the original zip and put on the big zip too



and finally sewed on all the chains. damn. i can't find any other way to put the chains on so that i can easily take them out later. sad.... guess i just gotta cut off everything sighhhs

and then over the weekends i chionged on yurine...

managed to cut her wig on sat - see the before and after!



back comb + hairspray ftw. i even got into trouble with my mom because i left hair fibres all over my living room. oops. one mistake to not commit for cosplaying - making a mess and not cleaning up, because it inconveniences others. even knowing that, my cleaning is never clean enough for my mom. oh well.

i feel so sian when i finished one and know that there was another side that i need to cut.



and when i finally finished both sides, i tied on the long extensions and clipped the ponytails on the main wig to see how it would look like:



not bad! reminds me of when cutepetz did her shugo chara character... and stella's rachel from blazblue. quite similar style no?

i also bought a permanent marker and drew on the eyes for her goggles. had to trace it from my pc screen first.



blue paint was found from some colored glue, and white paint was correction liquid. lol.



then i pasted it on the inside of the goggles to complete the prop.




then on sunday i worked on the freaking skirt. UGHHHH i hate the skirt!!! i made so many mistakes and it took me a much longer time to make it.

#1 cutting from a thin cloth
#2 worked on the thin cloth and tried to iron it
#3 pleated and sewed on the wrong cloth and had to unsew and pleat and sew again
#4 bought another thicker cloth to work on and pleated and sewed it on both ends
#5 undid one end of the sew because i needed to paste the red ribbons on it



#6 undid the other end of the sew because i needed to input the brown parts



#7 resewed both ends and realised i should use the thin piece as skirt lining so i undid one end of the sew and sewed on the thin layer
#8 thin layer was too long in width, had to cut it away and also in height - folded it in and sewed on. uhu glued all the yellow parts to cover the sides of the brown so it won't flail uglily when i wear it.



#9 sewed a hidden zip for the outer layer and realised i sewed the zipper on the wrong side!!! resewed this side
#10 sewed the other side for the zipper and realised my red ribbons didn't get folded in nicely, and my right side was longer than my left side!!! untacked and resewed
#11 sewed on a hook and realised i measured the distance wrongly, so i sewed on 2 hooks =.= lazy to remove the wrong one...

and then it's finally done... gosh... tedious. never knew this simple skirt can cause me so much trouble zzzz

updates!
worked on her inner top, which is a turtleneck. so i made it a bareback turtleneck so i wouldn't be too hot in it with the leather jacket over me...



i have an ugly grey zip on the side cos that's the only zip i had that fitted haahah



here's the leg part to be attached to the boots or the bottom of the pants, secured with velcro.



used the same material for the pleated skirt as well.. gonna do the patterns sometime this week...'



progress for her goggles!

i just cut out the side pieces and stuck them on with BONDO!





same for the big zip, cut from foam, stuck pvc over it using BONDO. bondo rocks...



completed the pants yesterday too. stupid stretchy materials... i had to wear it first, then put the foam rings over it, secure with thread (poked myself many times in the process, i might as well sew myself to it). then cut the pvc rings to stick over them. finally i cut a hole in the middle (just a tad smaller than the ring so the material gets stretched to the ring size)





have to hotglue the pvc on so it's more stable. heh. also cos i was running out of bondo. T.T



yay-hay~~ but still i don't hear from you. what do i do...!??!?!? T.T
