Day 2: 00's Birthday

woke up rather late, then went for shopping with jooa. since mr k so smartly brought pants only, it makes getting a present all the more easier. it was about an hour ride to the shopping district and in the end i bought 2 shirts and a pair of pants (which didn't fit T_T). seems that there was some traveling planned but we spent too much time on shopping and woke up too late, so we could only skip straight to dinner after a short walk along the beach.

had buffet at a hotel, and it was really worth it!! except for the music on the loop, the ambience is actually pretty nice.

it's about 45k per person.. but just take a look at what we ate!! the appetizers look so pretty.

this is some kind of herbal soup and galbi-tang 갈비탕 but it's too black to see anything. zzz. and i spammed the mussels. hurhur.

and desserts! ice cream is good~~ cakes were so-so.

and here comes the best part of the buffet - king crabs!! i don't know what they used to steam it but it's so juicy and tasty!!

and my favourite traditional korean dessert - ice persimmons!! the flesh is ice-creamy and juicy and oh so heavenly that i feel like eating it now. yummmmmmmmmm~~

and this sums up our dinner.

after dinner, we strolled back to the hotel and played a bit on the beach.

we also got a chocolate cake for sy's birthday. what's a birthday without a cake? it's too bad it's not an ice cream cake, since that's what he likes best T_T

the candles melt a bit too fast though -_-

sy says that it was actually the most extravagant birthday party he's ever had. because he hasn't even celebrated his birthday in the past at all. well, as long as i'm here, all your birthdays will be awesome in the future!!!

130510 Busan Day 1: Oberun Hotel

and i went busan, the hometown of lee junki kekeke. but of cos i did not see him T_T
it was actually a trip to visit their comic world, and the 5 of us went on this trip (me, jooa, sy, ta-sem, waky) we took a 4-5hours ride via bus, and i skipped the noon lessons so that we could set off earlier. it's about 33,000 won per trip and the seats are big and comfortable.

we stayed at a somewhat suspicious looking hotel called oberun from the outside, near haeundae beach, but the inside is big and spacious!! it wasn't very expensive either, maybe 30-40k per night?? the room that me and jooa got was actually bigger than the room the guys had since they claimed they weren't gonna sleep. tsk.

we went out for dinner and ate seafood jjige at a nearby restaurant since busan is well-known for their seafood.

there's this live squid thing that we ate too. whooooa..

since it's my first time here, i get to take a little walk around the place while waky and sy went back to finish up the costumes. it's a terrible habit of theirs to set off to conventions when the costumes are not ready. i wonder how i can ever correct this problem. then again, the costume sy is supposed to work on is mine x.x sighs.

we stopped at cafe bene to eat 팥빙수! (ice red bean). cafe bene is actually everywhere but this was the first time i entered the cafe. the interiors are pretty nice!

so ta-sem, jooa and me had a loooong talk and it was actually pretty interesting.

i went back to the hotel later on since i was worried on the progress. but it seems that they ran out of some important materials so i couldn't really help much :( in the end sy accompanied me back to my room to sleep while jooa and ta-sem went out for pc games. acks. i am probably the only one who got rest while waky and sy worked on whatever it is they had to work on. siiiighs.

130506 Bau House Cafe

went to a dog cafe with xm after school! it's at the station next to hongdae, you can see it right after you exit (1 or 2 i can't remember). it's called Bau House, and it's one of the most popular dog cafe in Seoul.

as you can see the dogs are all HUGE. what makes this place pleasant is that the employees are all fast and hard at work at cleaning and disinfecting so that the place doesn't smell badly.

here's me with some of my favourite dogs - i especially love this big one (it's the biggest there).

the black fur is so smooooooth.

this sausage dog is so huggable hahah.

i like the dog's expression here! awwwww

and this one looks like a little lion!

you can actually buy dog food to feed them which we did, but just beware that they'll all surround you like in the first photo.

if you like dogs, you should most definitely visit here. the only thing you need to do is buy a drink and you can stay however long you want. they have more than 20 dogs, the little ones were in another part of the cafe. all of the dogs are friendly and obedient so as long as you don't do anything funny to them, they won't bite you!

we ended our day with shaved ice at hyehwa. it's like >8k per bowl, not cheap. at least it's big!

130504 Nami Island 나미선

woke up almost near noon and decided to head to nami island. it's about an hour ride from hyehwa, but you needed to change at one of the station and the train took so long to arrive. zzz. after you stop at chuncheon station, you had to take a bus/taxi to the ferry terminal and take a boat to the island. pretty complicated. oh, you get discounts as tourists too thankfully we brought our passports!

almost felt like we were going to another country.

and we're here~

there's quite a lot of pretty displays around using recycled stuff so don't mind the picture spams. hurhur

there's even a merlion here...

and thankfully it was still spring so there's a lot of pretty flowers in bloom

interesting samurai structure

and a winter sonata bridge where the lovers had their first kiss! by the way if you don't already know this place is actually a filming spot for winter sonata. i think the island was probably made for the show. and it's a place built for lovers (so i wonder why i'm here with xm...)

i took such a nice photo of the waters!

and there's some more winter sonata snowman. people started gathering around after i took my pic. grah.

some stalls selling random stuff

don't you think the sunlight gives the picture a fantasy like glow? hurhur

don't know why there's unicef here but we went in to have a look anyway

and there's also souvenir shops... of course.

these mushrooms reminded me of my laogong.

and more winter sonata spamssssss

and the famous tree-lined avenue.

a place to rememeber the character that died in the show.

random structure. you see the boobs of the mom flipped behind??

the evening glow of the sunset is so pretty.

i'm sure i saw this scene from the drama too!

(but it's actually 2 guys riding the bike. lol)

then on our way to the exit...

and finally we took the ferry back...

chuncheon was supposed to be famous for the dalkgalbi 닭갈비 but we didn't know which was good so we randomly selected one. it was in fact, so-so. the one in yong-in was much better...

the fried rice to be done with leftovers

with that we headed back to the hostel to rest for the day.
